Vedic Astrology and Ayurveda – A Blueprint Of Your Life And Purpose
Authors note: This is a guest post from Paddi Moore author and creator of vedicastrologyblog.com.
She has been a professional Astrologer since 1987 and devotes her life to the expansion of this ancient wisdom in the west.
All the secrets to life and its purpose are revealed in the Vedas.
One of the most accurate and ancient forms of astrology comes from the Vedas – the oldest body of knowledge and wisdom that we know of to date.
The Vedas are, even by today’s standards, advanced in philosophy, wisdom and scientific techniques.
Both Vedic astrology and Ayurveda make use of Sanskrit – the only known spiritual language.
What makes Sanskrit a spiritual language is that the specific limbs or “Vedangas” all contain within them alchemical combinations called “Yogas “which have an energetic vibration.
When spoken and activated through mantras they link to our earthly life with the “Divine,” or “God” in all the different names.
By understanding and making use of the Vedas through Vedic astrology and Ayurveda, we rise to our highest expression of being.
The goal of life as it pertains to the Vedas is to work through our “Samskaras,” or past karma, and to find “Jiva Mukti” or” Mosksa”; liberation from pain and suffering.
The Vedas offer us wisdom on how to live and care for the body. They should include both Ayurveda and Jyotisha (Vedic Astrology).
Ayurveda is the Vedanga (language and knowledge) that offers us important tools on how to feed and heal our body so that it may be a vessel for joy and bliss.
What is now commonly referred to as Yoga in the west is actually the asana practice, which may include the practice of Ayurveda.
The alchemical combinations given in Ayurveda include recipes for healing the body and mind, as well as other healing techniques such as massage – each one according to our specific elemental make up referred to as our “Doshas”.
The other main Vedanga or sister science to Ayurveda and Yoga is Jyotisha. “Jyo” is Sanskrit for “light”. Jyotisha is the science of light. It is a language that offers us information that is encoded in light.
Specific to each of us personally is our Vedic birth chart, which gives us the information of our “karmic code”.
Within our chart we find “Yogas” which are energetic light combinations that form to create various attributes for this lifetime.
Through this we are also able to receive valuable information about our soul and see what karmas we have brought forth into this lifetime that requires our attention.
Further to that, based on the time or our birth, we activate specific planetary cycles, which if we know about can prove valuable in navigating life’s ups and downs.
Along with deepening our understanding of our own nature and how we are related to the cosmos Jyotisha is designed to answer the questions: who am I? Why am I here?
In addition, there is the art of timing which can help us flow with the natural cosmic forces- planning and making our lives easier.
Ayurveda is the tool that is designed to help us live in our body and keep it healthy. Vedic astrology is the tool for self-knowledge and understanding the connection to our celestial and earthly environment.
Planets fall under elemental qualities so it is also possible to see your natural doshas through Vedic astrology.
Dasas are the time system that our Dohsas must undergo in this lifetime. This is a rather complex system that requires years of study to master. However having a Joytisha or Vedic astrologer explain your chart can be beneficial to how you construct and create your life.
